Somewhere in Arizona, a freight train thunders out of the distance.
I have always loved trains. I remember, once, when I was a kid, counting the number of cars pulled by a single locomotive and attempting to calculate the force required to pull all those cars. It amazed me then. It still amazes me today. This video was taken between Flagstaff and Meteor Crater. Sometimes, if I have trouble sleeping, I put this video on repeat and I let it play over and over again with the volume lowered slightly. The clakity-clak clakity-clak lulls me to sleep.
Watching this video reminds me of Paul Simon's
song: Everybody loves the sound of a train in the distance.
